The purpose of this meet up group is to support Spoken Word/Poetry in Washington, DC. Come out and listen or come share your work! There are several venues in the "U" Street area that host "Open Mic" each week. We will Honor Gil Scott Heron, by hosting this Annual Poetry Festival. … I will be scheduling regular meetups to go see movies at the Landmarks E Street and Bethesda Row, AMC Loews Shirlngton and the AFI Silver Theater.  Film festival and museum screenings are also possible.  Ideally dinner and discussion will follow after each movie. This meetup is free, I am not asking for donations, but if you offer to buy me a small popcorn I won't protest.   See you at the movies!
